The Business Council for Sustainable Development of the Republic of China (BCSD-Taiwan) is the only global network partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Taiwan. BCSD-Taiwan was established in May 1997, and was formerly known as the Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Association.

Our mission is to assist Taiwanese companies to develop sustainable strategies, and to introduce guidelines and examine relevant issues from global markets and research institutes pertaining to sustainability, to ensure that Taiwanese companies are on par with international sustainability standards so that they can play a vital role in the global value chain.

Our business scope covers climate change and energy, greenhouse gas inventories, carbon disclosure project (CDP) questionnaires, corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) risk control, non-financial reporting, environmental and social capital, sustainable finance, etc.

At present, we have a total of 58 corporate and legal person members, all of whom represent key domestic large enterprises. In order to promote industry-wide sustainable business practices, we are actively seeking SMEs to join our ranks in the hope that the resulting synergies will help to create greater long term and sustainable value for Taiwanese companies.
